“It captures my imperfections which is what I like...I like things being loose, I like to record straight in and not have to worry about it.”
Since the launch of Bitwig Studio a growing number of artists across all musical genres have adopted Bitwig Studio for their production and performance. We'd like to introduce you here to some of the amazing talents, who embraced Bitwig Studio since its launch and share their stories.
“It captures my imperfections which is what I like...I like things being loose, I like to record straight in and not have to worry about it.”
"Dialling through Bitwig’s resonator banks, reverb, blur effects and frequency shifters, to distortion presets and the system’s modulation abilities, the thing that jumped out at me are the subtleties I am able to achieve while processing field recordings.”
“It’s really simple, and extremely powerful. It changed everything”
“The elegant part of Bitwig for me is I only need one channel to do so many things.... and I can use modulators to modulate my hardware which is just incredible,” he says. “So I’m still learning on this never ending journey, but definitely less is more.”
"Bitwig definitely makes it easier for me to get ideas from my head to sounds I can record and use”
“Bitwig feels much more like a modular instrument than a classic DAW.”

"Bitwig is a great DAW for a starting up producer like me. What I like the most about it, is that it really is straight - forward, and easy to understand. It is also quite quirky which opens up a window to unlimited possibilities and exploring. It's in sync with my ideas and matches my personality really well. That is what I look for in a DAW. Strongly recommend to a junior or experienced music producer."

Her sound design for video games has been featured in “Butterstar Galactica” by Hudson Mohawke and other audiovisual projects.
"Bitwig picks up where Ableton left off for me, combining the speed and flexibility with advanced features I’m yet to see in any other DAW (nested FX chains, built-in modulation). The only limit is your imagination!”

"Bitwig has given me the ability to take my sound design and composition to whole a new level. The modulators enable me to turn the sounds I have in my head into actual usable elements in songs. There's a real level of musicality at the soul of this software, which I love."
Guy Andrews continues to carve his way into the electronic music scene, exploring a new sonic palette with his début album out on Houndstooth Recordings in March 2016. Ignoring previously used DJ-friendly structures, tempos, and mix downs, ‘Our Spaces’ breathes a new power and directness, as Guy has re-focused his approach and style. This paradigm shift is immediately evident from the album’s opening bars, with its emphatic percussion and reeling distortions a perennial feature throughout the album. This sonic aggression, however, is paralleled with a sensitivity and zeal that really adds a level of depth that is often hard to communicate consistently in album format.
"When it comes to producing or creative working , Bitwig is my choice! I love the workflow combining classic horizontal arranging with vertical jamming and clip based composing. The software looks fresh and sounds super clean and especially the modulation options in any direction is a huge plus on my work.
Bitwig delivers everything to support a modern way of writing and producing electronic music. Big fun is guaranteed!"
Martin Eyerer has been a DJ and producer for more than 20 years. In addition to being a producer, he runs his own label (Kling Klong), operates an analog mixing and mastering studio, and is one of the three driving forces behind Riverside Studios.
"The more I use Bitwig, the more I realise its potential to assist me in having an original sound. I also feel more joy and fun using Bitwig than any other DAW I have used in the past.
It’s inspiring, intuitive and I’m finding that the more I discover within Bitwig, the less I need to reach for 3rd party instruments to achieve the results I’m looking for. Bitwig has also encouraged me to be more adventurous and imaginative with live performance and I really enjoy preparing live sets now.
I feel really excited to be using this new DAW because it seems to have been designed with the intention of having none of the limits of the classic DAW’s I’m familiar with."

"Bitwig is the most exciting and mind-blowing music software I have ever used. After thirty years of tinkering with sequencers I should be totally bored with them by now, but I just got Bitwig 2.0 and suddenly making electronic music is as exciting and experimental as the day I started out. Amazing."

"Bitwig embraces artists who think 'out of the box' and intuitively integrates the likes of Eurorack Modular, hardware drum machines, vintage instruments, et al into its workflow. Bitwig does not insist its own ecosystem on the creative, instead it allows the creative to be the architect of your own personalised workflow."
The further you look into “TB Arthur” the murkier it all becomes. Rather like the story of the mysterious “Lewis” in a very different area of music, it all seems a bit too perfect. The over-amped analogue machines, the extraordinary psychedelic qualities of the music, the stories of dusty warehouses and hints of distant raves, the messages in run-out grooves like secret messages from times past: it's all so perfectly designed to press the buttons of techno vinyl fetishists it can't be real. Can it?
Our contacts at Hard Wax are not the most communicative – like Hard Wax ever has been, right? But the one thing they have been absolutely emphatic about is that despite forum chatter, this is not some secret project for Adam X, or Shed, or anyone else. To be precise: “TB Arthur is TB Arthur and will remain so despite the speculations”.
"I love Bitwig. it's the ultimate electronic playground. Before you know it you find yourself in very unexpected places!"

"I'm a huge fan of Bitwig. It has cemented itself as a highly creative and future proof DAW that is simple to use but allows advanced users to get deep with Bitwig's modular architecture. The modulators are such a unique and powerful feature that can yield extremely creative results with even the most vanilla plugins. I also love the MPE support especially with Bitwig's Polysynth. I truly believe that it's only a matter of time before MPE replaces the MIDI standard and so far Bitwig has implemented MPE in the most simple and user friendly way." edIT/ The Glitch Mob
The Glitch Mob – the Los Angeles-based trio comprising Justin Boreta, Ed Ma, and Joshua Mayer. Boreta, edit, and Ooah came together around 2006, passing through various members until settling on this core trio of musicians. Together, they combined their different skills and aesthetics into the compellingly collaged whole that has become one of the most beloved live electronic acts, and distinctive recording artists, working today.
"Bitwig is the first DAW that can truly move at the speed my brain does. No more workflow issues that tend to create a creative block. It allows me to be ten steps ahead of everyone else in a demanding session. It is with no question the best tool out there for creating music."
Alex Niceforo is a Producer/Songwriter/Remixer who has produced for Britney Spears, Robin Thicke, Ariana Grande, Miguel and submitted official remixes for Chris Brown, Kid Ink, Red, and Escape The Fate.
"The [Bitwig Studio] touch integration gives me a completely new way to control my virtual instruments and be fully expressive without needing a MIDI controller... besides, very few MIDI controllers would even give me that level of expressive control (and the few that do are about 4 to 5 times the cost of Bitwig)."

"Bitwig is fantastic! It has become my primary creation DAW. I've always judged an instrument by whether it made me play something I hadn't played before--Bitwig is the digital equivalent. The ease of use, creative FX, depth of functionality, processing power, and fact that the program itself never completely crashes allow me to stay in the creative zone, work quickly, stay inspired, and not get caught in a troubleshooting trap. It's visually fresh as well, which is fun. The Bitwig developers know what the modern producer/engineer wants."

From its deep routing options, to its control of unlimited parameters, I feel like I can really push things in a direction that would have never occurred to me before in any other DAW. It’s the little things that make the biggest difference, and Bitwig has so many!"

"Having been Logic guys from the Atari days, we switched to Bitwig on day one. The architecture of the program is just perfect for electronic music producers. Also switching back & forth between multiple open songs exchanging instruments, tracks and plug ins has been a major gain for me. The workflow is much faster than i experienced in other DAWs, due to endless routing possibilities. The audio engine sounds fantastic as do the instruments and plug ins. All recent Kaiser Souzai releases and remixes have been produced with Bitwig Studio."
Kaiser Souzai have been around since the early 2000s, working in the studio mainly, thus being a recording project only. They have released on labels like Trapez, BluFin & Yellow Tail, Natura Viva, Go Deeva, Sprout, Definitive, Blaufield, Tulipa, Schallbox, Plusquam, Subliminal, Kinetika and remixed artists like Booka Shade, Dave Seaman, Olivier Giacomotto and John Acquaviva.

"When it comes to modulation capabilities, Bitwig is a paradise for sound designers. Quickly after I got it, I found myself routing one thing to another, continuously making extremely elaborate chains (sometimes even with random LFO shapes and having an audio track record the madness). I would go into another DAW later and think '...how do I replicate what I did in here? How did I even make music before the capability to modulate everything so easily?' Modulations aside I love Bitwig especially due to the immense amount of tools you're given. It makes double digit automation lanes, manual band splitting and manipulation, third party bridging, plugin crashes, and so many other things a thing of the past. It just makes making music easier and so much more fun."
"We bought Bitwig in the first week of release persuaded by promises of enhanced workflow and never-before-seen modulation and routing capabilities. We truly haven't looked back since! Our work rate has increased immeasurably thanks to Bitwigs slick workflow and the opportunities for sound design presented by the mod containers and advanced routing system leave us drooling with delight, and still we are yet to scratch the surface. All of this plus the excellent, customer focused attitude of the developers means in our studio, Bitwig is here to stay.... we really couldn't recommend it enough!"
