What artists say about us

Since the launch of Bitwig Studio a growing number of artists across all musical genres have adopted Bitwig Studio for their production and performance. We'd like to introduce you here to some of the amazing talents, who embraced Bitwig Studio since its launch and share their stories.

  1. The Glitch Mob

    USA

"I'm a huge fan of Bitwig. It has cemented itself as a highly creative and future proof DAW that is simple to use but allows advanced users to get deep with Bitwig's modular architecture. The modulators are such a unique and powerful feature that can yield extremely creative results with even the most vanilla plugins. I also love the MPE support especially with Bitwig's Polysynth. I truly believe that it's only a matter of time before MPE replaces the MIDI standard and so far Bitwig has implemented MPE in the most simple and user friendly way." edIT/ The Glitch Mob

The Glitch Mob – the Los Angeles-based trio comprising Justin Boreta, Ed Ma, and Joshua Mayer. Boreta, edit, and Ooah came together around 2006, passing through various members until settling on this core trio of musicians. Together, they combined their different skills and aesthetics into the compellingly collaged whole that has become one of the most beloved live electronic acts, and distinctive recording artists, working today.

  2. Andrei Eremin aka Ghosting

    Producer/Engineer - AU

"Bitwig picks up where Ableton left off for me, combining the speed and flexibility with advanced features I’m yet to see in any other DAW (nested FX chains, built-in modulation). The only limit is your imagination!”

Andrei Eremin is a Melbourne-based engineer and producer whose work includes releases for grammy nominated band Hiatus Kaiyote, Chet Faker, Ta-ku, Miami Horror, Wafia and more. Eremin also releases his own music under his own name and the alias Ghosting.

  3. OTT

    Producer, Engineer - UK

"Bitwig is the most exciting and mind-blowing music software I have ever used. After thirty years of tinkering with sequencers I should be totally bored with them by now, but I just got Bitwig 2.0 and suddenly making electronic music is as exciting and experimental as the day I started out. Amazing."

Ott is a British record producer and engineer who has worked with Sinéad O'Connor, The Orb, and Brian Eno, and has achieved recognition since 2002 for his own psychedelic dub tracks and his collaborations with Simon Posford (Hallucinogen / Shpongle).
He has released two albums on Twisted Records: Blumenkraft (2003), Skylon (2008) and two albums on Ottsonic: Mir (2011) and Fairchildren (2015).

  4. TB Arthur

(Blotter Trax with Magda) - USA

"Bitwig embraces artists who think 'out of the box' and intuitively integrates the likes of Eurorack Modular, hardware drum machines, vintage instruments, et al into its workflow. Bitwig does not insist its own ecosystem on the creative, instead it allows the creative to be the architect of your own personalised workflow."

The further you look into “TB Arthur” the murkier it all becomes. Rather like the story of the mysterious “Lewis” in a very different area of music, it all seems a bit too perfect. The over-amped analogue machines, the extraordinary psychedelic qualities of the music, the stories of dusty warehouses and hints of distant raves, the messages in run-out grooves like secret messages from times past: it's all so perfectly designed to press the buttons of techno vinyl fetishists it can't be real. Can it?

Our contacts at Hard Wax are not the most communicative – like Hard Wax ever has been, right? But the one thing they have been absolutely emphatic about is that despite forum chatter, this is not some secret project for Adam X, or Shed, or anyone else. To be precise: “TB Arthur is TB Arthur and will remain so despite the speculations”.

Does it matter, anyway? Well not right now, it doesn't. For now – and for the eternal now of the dancefloor – what we have are three 12”s of really outstanding tripped-out machine funk that serve their purpose equally well whether they were made in 1995 or 2015, and whether they were made for fun, for a joke or as an expression of drug psychosis. And there's the promise of more to come, too. Perhaps it will turn out that there really is a dark and tragic tale behind them, perhaps there's a big game going on, or perhaps the background will remain shrouded in mystery. But for now, what we're left with is music that we have to judge entirely without prejudice, and which is good enough to more than justify any cloak-and-dagger shenanigans.

  19. Jimmy Deer

Producer, Engineer, Performer, Los Angeles - USA

"Bitwig is fantastic! It has become my primary creation DAW. I've always judged an instrument by whether it made me play something I hadn't played before--Bitwig is the digital equivalent. The ease of use, creative FX, depth of functionality, processing power, and fact that the program itself never completely crashes allow me to stay in the creative zone, work quickly, stay inspired, and not get caught in a troubleshooting trap. It's visually fresh as well, which is fun. The Bitwig developers know what the modern producer/engineer wants."

Jimmy Deer is a producer, composer and performer with mastery of guitar, bass, keys, vocals and drums along with 10+ years experience in the studio mixing. His credits include India.Arie, Three 6 Mafia, and Seal as well as Billboard Dance #1 remixes with Roy Davis Jr. His production and composition work in many genres (from Indie and Electronic to R&B or Country) has earned him over 150 Film and TV placements to date.

It’s the little things that make the biggest difference, and Bitwig has so many!"

  23. Kaiser Souzai

    (Ballroom) - GER

"Having been Logic guys from the Atari days, we switched to Bitwig on day one. The architecture of the program is just perfect for electronic music producers. Also switching back & forth between multiple open songs exchanging instruments, tracks and plug ins has been a major gain for me. The workflow is much faster than i experienced in other DAWs, due to endless routing possibilities. The audio engine sounds fantastic as do the instruments and plug ins. All recent Kaiser Souzai releases and remixes have been produced with Bitwig Studio."

Kaiser Souzai have been around since the early 2000s, working in the studio mainly, thus being a recording project only. 26. Akira Complex

    (S2TB Recording) - USA

"When it comes to modulation capabilities, Bitwig is a paradise for sound designers. Quickly after I got it, I found myself routing one thing to another, continuously making extremely elaborate chains (sometimes even with random LFO shapes and having an audio track record the madness). I would go into another DAW later and think '...how do I replicate what I did in here? How did I even make music before the capability to modulate everything so easily?' Modulations aside I love Bitwig especially due to the immense amount of tools you're given. It makes double digit automation lanes, manual band splitting and manipulation, third party bridging, plugin crashes, and so many other things a thing of the past. It just makes making music easier and so much more fun."

  27. Klax

    Producer - UK

"We bought Bitwig in the first week of release persuaded by promises of enhanced workflow and never-before-seen modulation and routing capabilities. We truly haven't looked back since! Our work rate has increased immeasurably thanks to Bitwigs slick workflow and the opportunities for sound design presented by the mod containers and advanced routing system leave us drooling with delight, and still we are yet to scratch the surface. All of this plus the excellent, customer focused attitude of the developers means in our studio, Bitwig is here to stay.... we really couldn't recommend it enough!"

  29. Tanuki

Producer and Sound Designer - UK

"Bitwig allows my creativity to flow smoothly without hindering workflow, which is extremely important not only with the song writing process, but also for sound design. Getting ideas down is now a refreshing and seamless process. It's also fun messing around with the crazy routing and modulation options that are present, which most often than not lead to 'happy accidents' when it comes to sound design. I own all the 'main' DAWs that are out at the moment and there's no denying that Bitwig is the most fun to use, which at the end of the day should be what making music is all about - having fun."

Tanuki is a UK based producer and DJ. His music takes influence from a wide range of genres, especially leaning towards the Japanese end of the spectrum. Since he first started in 2009, he has produced, arranged and remixed various genres of music for UP-FRONTS’s "Up Up Girls (Kakko Kari)", video game companies including Square Enix, Pentavision and also record labels such as Skrillex's sub-label NEST HQ, Hardcore Underground, Queens Label, Shot Music, S2TB Recording and more.
