Simplify your mix.
When building up a Bitwig Studio project, the individual parts can start to get out of hand. In most cases, ways are needed to get a handle on the mix in the most efficient way. Group Tracks is a tried and true way to quickly manage multiple parts of a mix at once. Grouping tracks that have common mix or tonality settings can be set in groups to minimize large sections of a project. For example, all the drum and percussion tracks have been balanced off each other perfectly, but against the entire mix, there are more adjustments to be done. Group all the drum percussion tracks into a single Group Track, and their relationship remains the same while the group can be balanced off the rest of the project mix with a single fader, send, mute, solo button or chain of devices.
Browse, Audition, Insert, Swap
You created the part and now you need the proper sound, groove, or melody. To accelerate the browsing workflow, all devices in Bitwig Studio 1.2 feature the Audition icon. This advanced browsing feature appears in a new window that uses Bitwig Studio's tagging system to eliminate the boundaries between devices. The result is a meta view of all available sounds in one category. Searching for the right bass? It doesn't matter if it's a Polysynth preset or a sample, you now have the freedom to audition all your content in place while playing on the fly. Use the Audition Browser to find the right sound quickly and to get back to what is most important, making music.
BITWIG FACTORY LIBRARY UPDATE
Demo songs, amazing presets, and all new sounds.
The launch of Bitwig Studio introduced us to artists and producers around the world making the most of the devices included with Bitwig Studio. Since then, our Sound Team has been hard at work creating new standards that provide a fluid experience when navigating from one preset to the next. These standards were presented to several new partners to develop an extraordinary new addition of content and workflow to the Bitwig Studio Factory Library, sure to inspire music makers and sound designers everywhere.
We are proud to introduce three new demo songs, over 500 fully-mapped presets, and optimization of every preset in our Library with the help of Detunized, Mode Audio, Sample Magic, and Overclock Inc. as part of the Bitwig Studio 1.2 update.

Advanced VST Multi-OutCreate a new kind of preset.
Multi-out VST technology been available for quite some time, but we saw room for improvement. Now it is possible to save your multi-out VSTs with embedded plug-ins and devices. Sidechain one voice off another within the VST or anywhere else in Bitwig Studio. Multi-in VST technology is supported as well, with device slots for any available VST inputs, and saving allowed for using your custom designs in the future. Use a combination of your favorite devices and multi-out VSTs to create highly elaborate routings within a preset which you can recall anytime, in any project, on any computer that uses the same devices with Bitwig Studio.
