Does Bitwig Connect come with Bitwig Studio?

Yes, it comes with Bitwig Studio Essentials. Register your Bitwig Connect in your Bitwig account to get access to great partner content via Bitwig Circle.

What version of Bitwig Studio is it compatible with?

Bitwig Mode only works with version 5.3.5 or later of Bitwig Studio, Producer, and Essentials. You can also use an older version without the Bitwig Mode features/but Bitwig Mode will be inactive.

Does it work with my iOS/with my iPhone/iPad?

Bitwig Connect works with any USB-C equipped iPad. Other iOS devices or configurations with Lightning-to-USB-C adapters (like the Apple Camera Connection Kit) are not supported.

I already have an audio interface. Can I use Bitwig Connect?

On macOS and Linux, you can use it alongside other interfaces by creating Combined Devices from within Bitwig Studio (v5.3 or later). And it works as a monitor, DAW, and Bitwig Studio controller on all supported operating systems.

I don’t use Bitwig Studio. Is Bitwig Connect for me?

Yes, the audio interface will work just like any other audio interface, and you can use all the I/Os on the top panel. If your preferred DAW supports the MCU protocol, Connect's transport control and scrolling should work, too. Bitwig Mode won’t work.

What’s the resolution of the Bitwig Connect Center Dial in Bitwig mode?

It's 12-bit, 4096 steps per 360° turn. This feels considerably smoother than the standard 7-bit MIDI resolution, which is limited to 127 steps.

Which sample rates can I use with Bitwig Connect?

Bitwig Connect supports all standard sample rates like 44.1, 48, and 88 kHz. When working in 176.4 kHz or 192 kHz, Direct Monitoring and Outputs 9-12 won't be available.

I don’t have any equipment with CV/Gate I/Os. Can I use any of the top panel I/Os?

All top panel I/Os can be used as line-level inputs and outputs with audio signals.

I can’t switch Input 1 to MIC level, and +48V doesn’t seem to work?

Input 1's XLR combo jack automatically switches to MIC when an XLR cable is plugged in. +48V phantom power can only be activated when a XLR cable is plugged in.

Input 1 and 2 seem to be different. How do I connect my stereo sources?

If you want to record stereo line sources, you can link input channels 1 and 2. The gain settings will be matched and changed by a single control.

Why is there a small signal visible on the level meters on input Channels 3 and 4 when set to CV?

It's a small amount of DC offset that will be reduced within the first few minutes of operation, similar to an analog synth's warm-up time.

My computer only has a USB-A 2.0 port.

Bitwig Connect works fine on older USB-A 2.0 ports. Use the included USB-C to USB-A adapter.
