How does the educational (EDU) verification process work?

Send us your educational documents for verification, along with the reference code you get when purchasing an EDU license, and your Bitwig account info.

A) I want to buy Bitwig Studio EDU online from the Bitwig webshop.

Following your purchase, we need to verify your status as a student or faculty member of an accredited academic institution. To do so, please submit the following documents to Bitwig:

  • A scan of your student or faculty ID
  • If you do not have a student ID, please send a scan of your personal ID or passport, and an official copy of your current registered curriculum and a link to your school.

Take these steps to complete the verification process following your online purchase:

  • Create a user account at www.bitwig.com, please use the same e-mail address as used when you bought the license and personal information as is stated on your student ID
  • Send us proof of purchase (reference number) along with student ID and/or other documents that confirm your status as a student to activation@bitwig.com
  • We will confirm your student status, please allow for 1-2 working days of handling time, weekends and public holidays not included
  • As soon as your student status has been confirmed we will activate the license for your user account and send you a confirmation per e-mail.

B) I want to buy Bitwig Studio EDU from my local store.

When you buy Bitwig Studio EDU version from your local store your educational status will be verified on location. Be sure to bring all your documents, such as student ID and a copy of your current course curriculum.
