Yao Xu is a composer, music producer, audio engineer, vocalist, and music production instructor at Upchord. His work brings together composition, contemporary music production, recording, and audio engineering, allowing him to explore music from both creative and technical perspectives.
Yao Xu focuses on helping students develop practical production skills while deepening their understanding of sound, musical structure, and creative decision-making. He believes learning music production is not only about mastering tools and techniques, but also about discovering your own creative sound. His goal is to help students turn their musical ideas into finished work with confidence and intention.
In addition to teaching, he remains actively involved in composition, production, audio engineering, and vocal projects. These experiences continually shape his approach to teaching and allow him to bring current, real-world production practices into his lessons.
