Bitwig Studio is Now Integrated with AlphaTheta’s rekordbox

How It Works

If rekordbox is installed on your machine, Bitwig will automatically show your rekordbox library as a location in the right-hand Browser Panel. You can search and filter your collection by artist, genre, playlist, and more. As always in Bitwig, combining Browser filters helps you narrow down your search.

Double-click (or right-click) a track to open it as a new Bitwig project matched to the track’s tempo and key. Hot Cues set in rekordbox are shown as cue markers to help you get oriented. You can also split the track into clips based on rekordbox’s song structure analysis or your own rekordbox cues. And vocal positions can be shown as dummy clips, so you can pick out the choice parts.

The integration makes it easy to create with and around your DJ collection. Quickly edit with Bitwig’s tools, or drag pre-cut clips into the Launcher to jam out a whole new structure. Strengthen a track’s percussion with BPM-matched loops, add synth parts quantized to the key, or transform your source material into something new.

Additionally, Bitwig now uses rekordbox tempo data on any analyzed track you drag into a project. So the grid you’ve got in rekordbox – whether auto-detected or manually adjusted – is now available in Bitwig, too.
