Bitwig hosts two part workshop at Kilele festival on February 24th, 2026

Kilele is East Africa’s first and only summit for music, tech and culture. Established to platform artists and collectives from the region working in diverse, under-represented styles from the folkloric to the futuristic, Kilele mixes panels, presentations and workshops with installations, showcases and after-parties over six thrilling days in The Mall, Nairobi each February and Bitwig is participating in the third edition of Kilele by hosting two part workshop on February 24th, 2026


“Zero to first beat” with Bitwig Certified Trainer Hendrick Sam

Hendrick Sam is a Bitwig Certified Trainer, accomplished music producer, audio engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and educator based in Nairobi, Kenya. Over the past years, he has been shaping the next generation of audio professionals at the Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI) through his innovative teaching methods and extensive industry expertise.
In this session Hendrick Sam walks the participants through the basics of making music with a DAW and how to create a first beat.


Visual Soniks: Data-Driven Music Sequencers using Bitwig Studio and Touch Designer with Kevin Karanja aka Atroklept

Kevin Karanja aka Atroklept is a Nairobi-based creative technologist who operates at the intersection of visual art, music and technology. Kevin Karanja’s workshop will be rooted in his participation in the “Instrument Maker lab” of Kilele in 2025. In the two hours Kevin Karanja will  explore how to translate visual data from TouchDesigner such as pattern, brightness and motion into musical parameters like pitch, rhythm and timbre and to utilize generative visuals as a co-composer for music.
