Here's how to get Bitwig Studio via Flatpak:
- Start Software and search for “Bitwig Studio”
- Open the Bitwig Studio application page and click the Install button
- Once installation is finished, Bitwig Studio is ready to be used. For quick access, be sure to pin it to your Dash
- The first time you start Bitwig Studio, you can activate it with your user credentials...
A Note On Permissions
We've pre-configured Bitwig Studio to run with suitable permissions. However, should you wish to adjust permissions, you can use Flatseal here...
Working With VST Plug-ins and Flatpak
We recommend installing any VST plug-ins using Flatpak. VST plug-ins that cannot be installed via Flatpak should be installed in a folder that is reachable by Bitwig Studio, like your home directory. Be aware that anything installed in
/usr/lib won’t be available to Bitwig Studio.
How To Get Flatpak
Ubuntu by default has Flatpak already installed. In case you need to manually install Flatpak, please visit this website.
With Bitwig Studio 4.3, we've added support for PipeWire on Linux. PipeWire is a Linux-based audio driver technology that allows for many cutting-edge features, such as multiple audio interfaces, and beyond. You can read more about PipeWire here...
