Travis is a sound designer and electronic music composer based in Austin, Texas. He is currently a member of Dreams of Machines, an electronic music group and audio-visual experience. He experiments with many genres, such as drum and bass, garage, experimental, house, noise, and synth pop. His music-creation process involves designing sounds from scratch, whether with hardware or Bitwig’s devices or some combination of the two. He is also a guitarist and has played in many bands, often combining guitars with synthesizers for effects and modulation.
Travis has a deep background in hardware instruments, both inside and out. He works in vintage synthesizer and sampler restoration and repair. On the side he builds synthesizers, MIDI devices, and effects units. He is proficient in integrating software with hardware, such as using modular synthesizers with Bitwig and TouchDesigner. Travis has a long history of teaching math, music, and electronics professionally.
